How to get here

We are located on South Harris and can be reached via the Caledonian Macbrayne ferry terminals at Stornoway, Tarbert and Leverburgh.

Car and Ferry

From the south there are 2 routes:

The A82 / A87 to Uig on the Isle of Skye and a ferry to Tarbert on Harris. This west coast route takes you through some impressive Scottish scenery and the ferry journey takes 1 hour and 40 minutes. From there it is a 30 minute drive to Rodel.

The A9 / A835 bypassing Inverness via the Kessock Bridge to Ullapool and a ferry to Stornoway. This is a less scenic route and the ferry journey takes 2 hours and 45 minutes.  The drive from Stornoway to Rodel takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes

The ferries are big with "fast food" café, lounge bar with TV and lounge area with airline type seats. There are areas at the bridge front where you can watch the scenery. Look out for dolphins as you approach the islands. Book in advance with the ferry operator, Caledonian MacBrayne, either through their very good web site www.calmac.co.uk or telephone 08705 650000.

Ferry journey time is 2 hours 45 minutes.

*As a result of RET (Road Equivalent Tariff) introduced on ferry routes from mainland Scotland to the Outer Hebrides in October 2008, ferry fares have almost halved*

Plane and Car Hire

There are daily flights from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness to Stornoway and the current operator is Flybe. You can book through their web site  or by telephone 0871 700 2000.
